yummy 4: prawn tom yam soup

good morning
though it is literally 4 in the morning and the fact that i am STUDYING..
it kills me man knowing that study at this late hour is not productive at all.
damn i got too much silly problems to settle in the study week.might as well call it a HELL WEEK instead..

everyone seems to find some ways to release their stress right now.a friend of mine done movie-marathon.
others had shopping yo~
for me,EATING is the best ways possible.

i just want to share you my experience in CENTRAL MARKET food court.
usually this place is known to attract foreigners as it sold variety of local unique products such as batik, kebaya and all.
me??

im not doing the shopping.it just that i had to settle a problem regarding our ''i love UM'' t-shirt that has been dragged too long.i had came to this place for almost three days in a row now.blimey!!
it cause a lot of energy, time and a headache..and my suggestion for all who want to design a shirt, please stay away from CM!!you better find a supplier with printing capabilities and not just an ordinary middle-man.it suck to get yourself into problems afterward..

the good thing is that..
i got the chance to taste its food court's delicacies.
the ambiance there is good enough to attract ongoing tourists.it is not the run-down food court you found in the worker's eating place.no no.

i went to CM today with miejah and we would like to try mini wok cuisine.it just my first time eating in a mini wok.i ordered myself a prawn tom yam soup (RM7.50) while miejah had herself a kuey teow kungfu(RM7.50).

kuey teow kungfu

prawn tom yam soup
ice cream toast
seems it is an unexpected food review,i didnt prepared myself with any camera.the photo is taken from google this time.
what is the verdict?
the tom yam soup is cooked poorly that it leaves the prawn stale's smell in the soup.and the prawn is not fresh anymore..prawn can be a marvelous or worst selection the way it is cooked.and mini wok served an ordinary prawn tom yam soup..not to mention the soup just have two prawns in it.i had to ordered a fried sunny-side egg just to finish my remaining rice.

the kuey teow kungfu is much better.
the kuey tiow itself is crispy with a combination of soft egg.the soup has enough flavor and it smells good.it takes no problem for miejah to finish it..pity me~~

and lastly,we had an ice cream toast as our dessert and lemon tea to quench our thirst..
i have a good time enjoying my dessert there..

ambience: 6/10.you would enjoy its authentic-styled decor
price: 9/10.affordable
verdict: should have choose tom yam at the thai corner.dont bother to order weird food choice in mini wok the next time..

this utter disappointment just leave me craving for a good prawn tom yam soup..
lets go for FOOD HUNTING!!!
haha

yummy 3: spicy fish cake

this is my first official review on food..
yeah,my classmates are all busy completing the assignment we have to submitted tomorrow....
as for a midnight snacks,i would wholeheartedly introduced them to spicy fish cake!!

a cold-storage version of fish cake is laaaame..
it just a big square shaped fish.does not attentive to the eyes at all. >.<
though fish cake now tend to varies differently,i am also looking forward to eat  eomuk-japchae: a korean style fish cake stir fry.
eomuk-japchae..
and its HALAL you know
Malaysian version of fish cake is ways different.
though the name of spicy fish cake is very uncommon to be used here. and i just knew it pretty just now too.haha.the townfolks right here more acknowledged it as 'otak-otak'
otak-otak is a cake made of fish meat.it is widely known across Southeast Asia, where it is traditionally serve fresh, properly wrapped in banana leaf..

and we like it to be charred grill until it becomes firm on the outside but juicy on the inside..yummy.

a good otak2  become crimson red
otak2 (one plate is RM2.50) is just a plenary snack to have after a busy revising or playing outdoor activities.it comes in a plate of 5 serving.and the so-called waiter is gladly to refill it again every time you run out of otak-otak.haha.
it will served better if you ordered a milo ais(RM1.50)  as a complement to relief your thirst...
Nasi lemak(RM2.00) will be the main dish for tonight menu.yippie..

eating nasi lemak in the middle of nite..
thats epic dude..

ambience:(6/10) a waruk mamak scenery.it is quite Malaysian and well 'lively'
price:(9/10) astonishingly cheap.
verdict: it is a favorite hangout of everyone.there a good roti canai served here too

can be found at
Seksyen 14
Petaling Jaya..

yummy 2:know the jargon

peace upon you!
in which the meaning is equivalent to muslim's greeting of ASSALAMUALAIKUM..
i just barely starting this blog but there are already followers in my list.(and i not even choose proper template)
such is the power of FOOD~~
haha

rite now is a basic subject on culinary and common sense :)
first is, if you go to KFC, be sure to choose its chicken and not a weird toasted twister.
know what i mean?
it meant to say that choose the restaurant's specialty and do not waste your precious money on others stuff~~
its more satisfying that way.if you want a burger, better put your direction to McDonald and forget KFC...
second is,know the jargon:

food can be categorized into several distinguishable category. it is called FULL COURSE MENU..

taken from a manga..haha
HORS D'OEUVRE:
also known as appetizer. guys you better learn French more because good food do come from French.some people might refer it as entrée. a good appetizer is one that can opened up your hunger..it best served cool but certain hors d'oeuvre are best just as it is..
devil egg.
main ingredient is eggs,mayo,salt,creme.
and on this case caviar
SOUP:
sure does it sound, soup  is a food that is made by combining ingredients such as meat and vegetables with stock, juice, water or another liquid.there are two type of soup:clear soup (bouillon and consommé) and thick soup(purees, bisque, veloutes)and soup is also very similar to stew.
French onion soup
FISH DISH:
fish dish can be cooked, steamed, or grilled.fish dish is served separately from the main dish. there is a culture from Malay that we will stuffed all of the dishes in a small portion and eat it altogether with main dish(rice)..
that way it promotes sharing but it tends to make the fish dish less savory.
ikan siakap 3 rasa.
one of the Malaysia treasured food.
 MEAT DISH:
a decent meat dish should have a balance diet proportion.it means that you can only eat a tiny slice of beef tenderloin.for a typical Malaysian, it is ways impossible to satisfy our eating desire.sigh~~
be sure to pick the most juiciest meat and for me,it is the part where it is attached to bones, because it has more juice and much more flavor.. be it a chicken breast, lamb steak, beef tenderloin, all of this can be eaten with proper cooking. Beacon is no no here.
Rif's plate
 MAIN:
the main dish is usually the heaviest, heartiest, substantive and most complex dish in the menu.it is usually either meat of fish.the main dish eventually can be from anything.prawn, scallop, abalone, etc
it makes me drooling.haha.
credit to bangsar-babe.blogspot
this one is jumbo prawn lobster with tomato oil ,shallot, lemon, garlics and herbs
SALAD:
after a heavy meal, you stomach needs to cleanse and detox.salad is mostly based on vegetable.

greek salad.
DESSERT AND DRINKS:
a good dessert is a good ways to promote your restaurant. because dessert is going to be the last menu on the list.if you can makes us smile till we leave your diner,it will absolutely give a tremendous remarks on our hearts.
cassata.
it is actually an ice-cream
the next time you went into a dine in at a hotel with full main course be sure to drink chinese tea in the intermediary. it will clean your tongue from the previous dish and you are as good as new.bring it on!!
haha

yummy 1

introduction came first...
HELLO~~
i am a Malaysian guy who dream off savoring any delicious delicacies available in town.
i am amazed by the writing of others food's lover,i think I'm gonna fall in love with them the food..
i want to share the happiness of mine holistic food therapy with all of you..
remember
The belly rules the mind - Spanish proverb
food is such a global addiction you know.it does not care about bullshit racism, gender, culture, occasion..
BUT
it is a RARE insight to have a food's lover who comes from an Islamic background~~
so i would like to take the honorary path to exposed you the
JOURNEY TO DISCOVER WONDERFUL HALAL FOOD....

what is halal?
it is not a dangerous term to understand..the Islamic teaching has ordered us to eat only good and halal food.
halal is always associated with non-alcoholics based food and it is also important to what extent the food is prepared initially..well,alcohol is widely know to be bad for your health.it stole one self-cautiousness and a foolish way to release you stress.alcohol is so bad it is referred as "devil's pee" in our teaching.
still, the are zillions of delicious foods prepared without having the touch of alcohol.

though i am a student rite now,my review will started in the tiny little stall alongside the row of shop-houses..
and then i will come up with a good review inside your neighboring shopping malls and lastly my final destination is high-end food diner and 5-stars hotels menu....

it just drooling no matter how silly you describe it~
and lastly,
KEEP THOSE TANK FULL WITH A LOT OF GOOD STUFF
 AND GOOD FORTUNE WILL COME~~
